common questions

  • I've been told my injury needs an operation. How long do I wait before I get called in? It should definitely be not more than 2 weeks. Ideally a lot less than two weeks. We would love to do everyone's operation urgently. Unfortunately we usually have a queue with about 50 people waiting with about new 10 patients added daily. We can operate on about 10 patients per day. Some operations need a specific surgeon available, a scan or sometimes special equipment which can can add to the delay. So the wait time can vary.  It should definitely be not more than 2 weeks.
  • I've been told I need a scan. How long will my scan take? A CT scan usually takes about 2 weeks. An MRI or ultrasound takes about 2 months.
